Sayan Chakraborty is a technology executive recognized for building and scaling R&D organizations and the companies they are part of. Most recently he served as President at Workday, responsible for all product, engineering, security, and delivery functions for a platform used by the world's largest organizations and more than 70 million people. Over his career he has led products from first concept through $9 billion in revenue. He joined Workday in 2015 through its acquisition of GridCraft, the machine-learning analytics company he co-founded, and advanced through senior technology roles before being named President in 2023. Earlier he led product development organizations at Oracle and held executive roles at Cygnus Solutions, Atheros Communications, and several venture-backed startups. He began his career as a spacecraft systems engineer at NASA/JPL and later worked on the early commercialization of GPS at Trimble Navigation. Sayan served on the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee, advising the Executive Branch on U.S. AI policy. He sits on the board of TransUnion, where he chairs the Technology Committee, and advises Nordic Capital. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT.
