Full-Stack Software Engineer

Savo is building the world's first Savo Human Intelligence Platform™, capturing people's unfiltered words in real time and transforming them into actionable insights. Our AI-powered platform conducts real-time, structured narrative interviews using intelligent voice agents. A multi-agent system extracts behavioral and cognitive signals from spoken language and translates them into scored, evidence-backed intelligence. We replace intuition and anecdote with science-backed human intelligence.
The Role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build the platform that captures human intelligence at scale. You'll work hands-on across our entire stack: React/TypeScript on the front end, FastAPI and PostgreSQL on the backend, and a real-time voice pipeline built on LiveKit - all deployed on AWS. You'll ship the features and customer solutions that make Savo work.
This is a build-and-learn role. You'll close real tickets in the real codebase from your first week, and you'll earn deep context on how the platform works by changing it. You'll write code, fix bugs, and iterate quickly, with code review and mentorship from senior engineers who will help you level up fast. You'll also work on the AI systems at the heart of the product: building and improving evals, tracing model behavior, working with prompts and structured outputs, and helping ensure our multi-agent systems are reliable in production. Over time, there's room to grow toward the science side of what we do: the NLP and measurement models that turn raw conversation into scored, evidence-backed signal. What we build is a scientific measurement instrument, not just software. The signals it produces have to be trustworthy and defensible.
You'll do it while working with AI coding tools that are fundamentally changing what small teams can accomplish, and help figure out what “engineering” means in that world.
This role is based in Austin, TX, with occasional travel (5-10%) for customer visits.
What you'll do
BUILD ACROSS THE STACK
- Ship features in both our front-end (React/TypeScript) and back-end (FastAPI, PostgreSQL) repositories
- Implement well-scoped components and features as part of larger designs, moving quickly from ticket to shipped code
- Develop and integrate APIs and do database schema work, with guidance on the trickier calls
SHIP CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS
- Build and improve the solutions customers run on Savo: Signal Event™ interviews, the participant conversation experience, and the delivery of results
- Understand the customer's problem and help make the platform solve it well
OWN QUALITY
- Write tests, participate in code reviews, and help keep the codebase healthy
- Debug across the stack and see issues through from report to fix
- Learn our workflow: local development with Docker, our branching and pull-request conventions, and our CI/CD pipeline
GROW
- Build context fast and take on more ownership over time
- Lean into the measurement, data science, and AI engineering side of the platform as you're ready, working alongside our data scientists
What we're looking for
- 1-5 years of professional software engineering experience (strong internship or co-op experience counts)
- A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Working proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar), and eagerness to become fluent across our stack
- Some exposure to both front-end (React or similar) and back-end (any web framework) development
- Familiarity with relational databases and version control (Git)
- A bias toward shipping: you'd rather get something working and iterate than wait for perfect
- An AI-native programmer fluent across CLI, IDE, and autonomous agent workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Grok Bot, Cursor, Codex, etc.) and how it’s changing the craft
- Interest in AI engineering with LLM-powered systems, including evals, prompting, structured outputs, model behavior, or agent workflows
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, or AWS
- Exposure to real-time systems, voice, or LLM-powered applications
- Interest in NLP, measurement, psychometrics, or data science
- Interest in building MLOps and LLMOps practices
