Quick answers to common questions about costs, payments, and consumption
How is my usage calculated?
Signal Sessions are billed in minutes of conversation at $0.50 per minute. The formula is:
Participants × Target Session Length (minutes) × $0.50 = Campaign Cost
For example: 50 participants × 20-minute sessions = 1,000 minutes × $0.50 = $500.
This is the maximum cost — a ceiling. If sessions complete faster than the target length, or some participants don't complete their session, the unused minutes are returned to your prepaid balance.
How do I know what a campaign will cost before I launch it?
The campaign wizard calculates the cost automatically during the Schedule step and displays it before you confirm launch. It shows: participant count × estimated session duration × $0.50 = projected campaign cost. It also checks your current balance and flags if it won't cover the campaign.
What happens when my balance runs out?
If your balance reaches zero, new campaigns cannot be launched. Sessions already in progress are not interrupted — they complete, and the cost is reconciled against the balance. Once your balance is depleted, top it up via Billing → Add Funds to resume launching new campaigns.
How do I add more funds?
Go to Billing → Add Funds. Payments are processed via Stripe. Your balance updates immediately after a successful transaction.
What if a session runs longer than the target session length?
The target session length is the maximum duration the AI will run a session before closing the conversation. Sessions won't exceed the target — the AI brings the session to a close when it reaches the time limit, even if not all topics have reached full saturation. Actual cost reflects actual minutes consumed.
How do I get a receipt?
Go to Billing → Purchases. All transactions appear here with date, amount, and a downloadable receipt.
What comes included with my account at no charge?
Every Savo tenant account includes the following at no additional cost:
- One free test session for each Ready-to-Use Signal Event in the Savo event library. This lets you preview every built-in event before deploying it in a campaign.
- One free Event Studio event credit. You can design and build one custom Signal Event in Event Studio without any charge.
- Three free test sessions per Event Studio event. Every event you create in Event Studio — including the free event — comes with three test sessions so you can review and refine it before launch.
These allowances apply to the tenant account as a whole. They are not per team member or per Tenant Admin.
What does Event Studio cost?
Every Savo account includes one free Event Studio event credit. Each Event Studio event — including the free one — also comes with three free test sessions.
When your free allowances are used:
- Additional Event Studio events: $10 each
- Additional test sessions (for any event, including Ready-to-Use events): $5 each
Event Studio costs apply at the tenant level. Adding more team members does not increase your free allowance or reset your credits.
Is billing the same for all customers?
Yes. There are no tiers, no per-seat fees, and no subscription charges. All customers use the same consumption-based model: load a balance, launch campaigns, and pay for the minutes you use.
